1. SUN VGA Patch description:

For M64 (ATI RageM1 VGA chip): 108606 (for sol8) & 112622 (for sol9)

For XVR-100 (ATI Radeon7000 VGA chip): 114537 (for sol8) & 114538 (for sol9)

2. How to check my VGA type

# prtconf –F (This command could check type of VGA chip)

3. Install Instruction for Sun's patch:

a. Download latest m64 & XVR-100 patch as upon from http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/show.pl?target=patchpage

b. Login as root.

c. Change directory to the directory that you download Sun VGA patch then install the patch.

For example if you download patch to /export/home:

# cd /export/home

#unzip patch.zip

# patchadd patch

d. Reboot the machine

4. Adjust LCD resolution

Use “m64config” (for M64) or “ fbconfig ” (for XVR-100) command to adjust LCD resolution.

a. m64config:

#m64config - prconf (This command could browse all the resolution option supported by the system and

browse VGA setting status)

#m64config - res 1280x1024x60 nocheck -depth 24 (This command could set 1280x1024x60 resolution)

b . fbconfig :

# fbconfig - res \? (This command could browse all the resolution option supported by the system)

# fbconfig - prconf (This command could browse VGA setting status)

# fbconfig - res 1400x1050x60 nocheck -depth 24 (This command could set 1400x1050x60 resolution)
